Women make up over a quarter of our current Congress — the highest number ever in U.S. history. That’s thanks to a decades-long fight to elect women, and in this election year, it couldn’t be more important that we uplift pro-women candidates at every opportunity.
With reproductive freedom under attack from the MAGA GOP, we need fierce advocates for women’s rights — leaders like Reps. Mary Peltola, Angie Craig, and Sharice Davids.
Mary defied the odds in 2022 when she became the first Alaska Native to ever serve in Congress, and she did it with grassroots support from her fellow working-class Alaskans. From day one, she’s fought for women by protecting mifepristone access, cosponsoring the Women’s Health Protection Act and remaining an outspoken supporter of a women’s right to choose.
Angie flipped her seat from red to blue in 2018 and has been unapologetically pro-choice from the beginning. She won’t stop fighting until Roe is restored and every woman’s fundamental right to control her body is secured, and she was instrumental in passing the Ensuring Access to Abortion Act, protecting the right to travel for abortion care.
Sharice was first elected to represent Kansas’ third district in 2018, becoming one of first two Native American women ever to serve in Congress. Since then, she’s worked tirelessly for a future where all Americans have access to reproductive healthcare, including the right to an abortion.
