As the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, I work day in and day out to advance our mission to elect Black and non-Black allies to Congress — and thanks to the efforts of those who have come before me, we currently have the largest Congressional Black Caucus in history.
Black history is being made every day, and our sixty hard-working members are living proof. From Leader Hakeem Jeffries, the first Black lawmaker to lead a party in Congress to Rep. Colin Allred, who’s fighting to become the first Black Senator in Texas, we are a team of firsts, and I couldn’t be prouder of that.
However, we’re aiming for more than just “firsts”, Peter. Our government should be representative of the people, and electing leaders that serve with passion, dignity, and integrity is how we can move beyond divisive politics and build a better future.
