Love it or hate it, this release is set to illicit a reaction. When this product was first introduced to me I thought they were crazy. On paper, a $150 RTD seems insane (and maybe it is). That was until I tried Batch 1. It was not only the best Old Fashioned I’d had, it was one of the better releases of 2021. After a sell out in both 2021, and 2022, the Gold Fashioned is back with a beautiful new look.
Created by award-winning bartender and spirits producer Robert Haynes, this batch includes 9-year Kentucky Bourbon and 10-year and 6-year Indiana Straight Rye Whiskeys. The bitters are made from hand-harvested Herat Saffron, Grade-A Tahitian Vanilla Beans, single-origin Ecuadorian Cacao, Seville Orange Peel, and wild-harvested Gentian Root from the French Alps. Each bottle is accompanied by an orange zest atomizer comprised of Valencia, Blood, and Navel orange peel extracts.
This year, we also have their bottled Martini. Created in collaboration with Julia Momosé, The Martini offers a modern twist on a classic favorite. Momosé is the visionary behind the critically acclaimed Chicago cocktail bar, Kumiko, and the James Beard award-winning cocktail book, The Way of The Cocktail. Inspired by the changing of the seasons in Japan during Momosé’s childhood, the custom gin botanicals include Sakura for spring, Sansho for summer, Hojicha for autumn, and Yuzu for winter. Each bottle is accompanied by a yuzu zest atomizer composed of Yuzu peel extract.
If you’re looking to try something a little different, these are the bottles to grab.
