Adam McCready, Chi Deuteron ’02, continues to make the organization proud as he is the latest recipient of the Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Award, presented by the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors Foundation. The award was established in 1985 to recognize individuals who have exhibited outstanding achievements in the fraternity/sorority industry, including participating in service and research beyond the recipient’s organization and scope of role.

As a member of the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors for two decades, McCready’s research examines the college experience, often focusing on historically white fraternities and sororities. His research has been published in “Psychology of Men & Masculinities,” “Research in Higher Education,” “Innovative Higher Education, Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development,” and the “Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice.”

McCready began his service to Theta Delta Chi as a Charge Consultant, at the CFO and on the road, shortly after his graduation in 2002, advancing to Graduate Secretary of the Grand Lodge in 2005 and PGL in 2007. He co-edited (with Kay Davila, Psi Deuteron 2001) the 15th edition (2003) of the Theta Delta Chi Handbook. His most lasting contribution to the Fraternity, however, is probably the creation and early development of the Preamble Institute. He now serves a new role as assistant professor-in-residence of Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) at UConn’s Neag School of Education.

Theta Delta Chi would like to congratulate Brother McCready on his recent achievements and thank him for all the work he’s done, and continues to do, for both Theta Delta Chi and fraternity & sorority life.
