We start today with the latest crime news, as a Pinal County grand jury has indicted a teenager in the murder of a San Tan Valley teen in November. Anthony Jason Garcia, 17, was indicted for second-degree murder and is charged as an adult. Read more about the indictment.
Speaking of crime, the Maricopa Police Department will be conducting a DUI checkpoint in an effort to keep the city safe during the holiday season. The decision was made as part of MPD’s “Holiday Community Enforcement,” funded through a recent grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. Here is more information about the checkpoint.
