I wish we had better news to share.

Rj,

I wish we had better news to share.

The FBI just released its most recent Hate Crime Statistics Act report, and the numbers are disturbing. The report disclosed a record-breaking 11,643 hate crime incidents in 2022, with a substantial number targeting Black people and a historic rise in anti-Hispanic hate crimes.

The U.S. has a long history of racial violence and vile, hateful discrimination. And, the FBI’s data reveals the problem is getting worse. Hate Crimes Awareness Month comes to a close tomorrow — will you make a special gift to stop hate violence and white supremacy before the deadline tomorrow?

The SPLC is a leader in hate crime prevention and advocacy for victims of hate crimes and their communities. Here are a few ways our work contributes to the fight for justice:

  • Demanding action and accountability from our lawmakers – including requiring comprehensive hate crime reporting.
  • Taking legal action to represent survivors of hate crimes.
  • Exposing the activities of white supremacists and other extremists.
  • Providing resources for educators and communities through our Learning for Justice program to teach truth and promote diversity, justice and action as foundations for building future leaders.

This work is crucial, and it is needed now more than ever. We need you to take a stand against hate crimes and white supremacy by making a special gift before the midnight deadline tomorrow.
