Railroad Heritage Day

Railroad Heritage Day is set for Saturday, September 9 at theRailroad Museum of Pennsylvania. Some highlights of this family-friendly event include a:

• “Down By The Station” tour at 11:00 a.m., presented by Museum director Patrick C. Morrison.

“Pennsylvania Railroad Board Rooms” presentation at 1:30 p.m., offered by Museum volunteer/program coordinator Elizabeth Myers.

• “The Solari Board” spotlight talk at 3:00 p.m., presented by Museum educator Jesse Shetrom.

• Marklin/LEGO® train display.

• Coloring table for kids.

 

A number of the Museum’s historic locomotives and railroad cars also will be open for visitors to experience. Railroad Heritage Day activities are included in the regular Museum admission.

The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is home to a world-class collection of about 100 historic locomotives and railroad cars, a vast research library and archives, a working restoration shop, an immersive education center and programs, a Museum store and special events and exhibits.

A Smithsonian Affiliate, the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is

one of 24 historic sites and museums administered by the

Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission as part of the

Pennsylvania Trails of History®, with the active support of the nonprofit

Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
