Dear Peter,
Make no mistake—you are changing the world. The support you give, the actions you take, and the compassion you inspire deserve to be celebrated! Each year, we produce an annual report. But this year, we are sharing a midyear report because we are overjoyed at the monumental progress you have already made possible.
I am excited to present The Gratitude Report.
We cannot possibly fit all the achievements you’ve helped make happen into one email, but here are some highlights:
- We fought hard alongside our allies to persuade the Supreme Court to uphold Prop 12—and it did. This means that a significant hurdle to the enforcement of Prop 12 and similar laws has been removed. Animals in many states will soon be spared life in extreme confinement. This is a massive victory for farmed animals that you helped secure.
- Last year, Kroger backtracked on the promise it had made to ban the sale of eggs from caged hens by 2025. We called out the company with full-page ads in the Wall Street Journal and Cincinnati Enquirer. In response, Kroger vowed to increase transparency. We will continue to hold them accountable.
- After collaborating with Mercy For Animals, Subway launched a new plant-based chicken teriyaki sub. This vegan option has been added to the menu at more than 800 Subway locations in Mexico!
