The CIS Ombudsman’s Webinar Series: 2023 Annual Report
Tuesday, July 11, 2023
1-2 p.m. Eastern Time
The Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (CIS Ombudsman) invites you to participate in a webinar highlighting our 2023 Annual Report to Congress tomorrow, Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 1 to 2 p.m. Eastern Time.
On June 30, we submitted our 2023 Annual Report to Congress. Each year, our office conducts a substantive analysis and makes recommendations to address some of the most significant challenges individuals and employers encounter when seeking immigration benefits from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
During this session, Acting CIS Ombudsman Nathan Stiefel and the Annual Report authors will discuss the topics covered in this year’s report. These include:
- Backlogs in the long term: 2022 in review
- The growing humanitarian mission of USCIS and its impact on future workloads
- The use of requests for evidence in L-1 petitions
- Temporary Protected Status: the impact and challenges of increased demand
- A look back at USCIS’ unprecedented Fiscal Year 2022 efforts to use all employment-based immigrant visas
- Improving the customer experience from the Contact Center to the field
During the webinar, participants will be able to submit questions and comments in real time.
