Fridays on Prouty concerts are a collaboration between the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center and Troy Main Street. Concerts are free to the public thanks to a generous grant from the Troy Foundation.
Bootleg Blues Band Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 7:30 pm – Hayner’s Lucky Lemonade Concert series features current, regional, original music. The 2023 series will open with one of Troy, Ohio’s true originals, The Bootleg Blues Band. Featuring J.R. Feltner, guitar; Kirk Klingler bass guitar, Rick Partida, drums and Jimmy Allen, harmonica. These accomplished musicians survived the 60s, 70s and 80s and have been playing the sweetest and blues-iest sounds of rock ever since. You will hear their favorites from Stevie Ray Vaughan’s House is Rocking to Buddy Guy’s version of Feels like Rain with some Paul Butterfield Born in Chicago, as well as some original songs. They call themselves, “The original house rockers” and plan to rock some house at the Hayner on July 11, 2023 at 7:30 pm for the free Lucky Lemonade Concert Series.
Mike Wade and the Nasty Natti Brass Band Friday, July 14, 2023 at 7:30 pm – The Fridays on Prouty Concert Series continues in July with the big, big sound of Mike Wade and the Nasty Nati Brass Band. Founded by Mike Wade in 2012, this nine + piece band will be bringing New Orleans style brass with a crazy bit of jazz, fusion and funk in the mix. Vocalists Vee Gibson and Dontay McCall will join the band adding Vee’s elegance and Dontay’s powerful voice to all that brass and percussion. Two trumpets, two trombones, two percussionists, two saxophone and a sousaphone will make this a night to remember. Fridays on Prouty concerts are free and require no reservations. Be sure to bring a lawn chair to the park at the Northwest quad of the traffic circle in the center of downtown Troy, Ohio. 
Tyler Cochran Trio Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 7:30 pm – Hayner’s Lucky Lemonade Concert series honors exceptional regional musicians and current, original music. On Tuesday, July 18 the series will feature a Dayton musician and his exceptional band. Cochran’s style is, what he calls, “the soul of the blues, the mentality of jazz and the attitude of rock.” He is a skillful guitarist having had a guitar in his hands for over half his young life. Joining him for this concert is Phil Doncaster on drums and Matt Rookard on bass. The band will play some favorite covers as well as several of Tyler’s own compositions. The style is an energetic, feel-good blues rock.
Sam Hill and the PIckers Friday, July 21, 2023 at 7:30 pm – Sam Hill and the Pickers plant their feet at the intersection of American country and rock, celebrating the traditional and diverse influences that lead to this fertile musical crossroad. From country pioneers and southern rock to blues outlaws and song-craft troubadours, Sam Hill and the Pickers stay true to their roots and pay homage to a rich musical heritage. Lead pickers include Matt Bourelle, Brandon Hasinger, with vocalist Jason Hamilton on guitar and Jon Berry and Dustin Payne making up the rhythm section.  If you’re looking for more twang and less of the same old thing, kick up your heels with Sam Hill and the Pickers!
Brandon Coleman Trio Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 7:30 pm – Coleman performs and composes music that is intricate, personal, and cinematic. He has a unique guitar voice that is both accomplished and inventive. His compositions have a natural, improvisational sophistication with classic jazz syncopation, rhythms and chords. Joining him in the Hayner Courtyard is Matt Wiles on the upright bass and Jeff Mellott on drums. The trio can be found on Bandcamp and YouTube. See the trio perform at the Hayner here.
Chloe and the Steel Strings Friday, July 28, 2023 at 7:30 pm – Chloe & the Steel Strings is an up and coming Americana band from Toledo that will be performing for the Fridays on Prouty concert series in downtown Troy, Ohio on July 28, 2023 at 7:30 pm. They are acoustically driven and have crafted their unique sound of singer-songwriter Americana with a dash of psychedelic headspace, weaving rhythms and vocals. The band’s sound has been described as: If “Joni Mitchell had a baby with the Flying Burrito Brothers.”
Kyle Eldridge and the Kentucky Cowhands Friday, August 4, 2023 at 7: 30 pm – Honky tonkin’, Western swingin’, rockabilly Kyle Eldridge returns to Troy’s summer stage.  The fabulous Kentucky Cowhands will do a smooth mix of classic country and western, some red-hot rockabilly and some sophisticated mid-century Americana. Kyle is known for his flawless old-school guitar picking and his keen on-point originals. Invite your dancing partner to Prouty Plaza because Kyle Eldridge and the Kentucky Cowhands will be bringing those swinging upbeat rhythms.
These concerts require no reservations but bring a lawn chair and grab some dinner, a beverage or ice cream from one of the great Trojan restaurants within walking distance. Visit www.TroyMainStreet.org/dining to learn more about your options.
Cincinnati Transit Authority Friday, August 11, 2022 at 7:30 pm – This big eight-piece band pays tribute to the great horn-driven sound of Chicago Transit Authority. The band consists of some of the area’s best rock, jazz and blues horns, keys and strings with spot-on renditions of iconic Chicago tunes like “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is,” “Hard Habit To Break,” “25 or 6 to 4” and “Saturday in the Park.”

Made in Troy

The Troy-Hayner Cultural Center is pleased to present Made in Troy, Ohio, an historic exhibit curated by Judy Deeter. The exhibit consisting of items from the Museum of Troy History, The Troy Historical Society and several local individuals will be on exhibit from June 30th  to August 20th.  

Researching Genealogy: Offline Records & Beginning Genealogy

This workshop is a two-part “how-to-start” class for beginning genealogists.
*1st session: Where Do I Begin? Students will learn how to link generations of  ancestors to themselves. Types of historical and genealogical records and how to document facts about ancestors will be covered.
*2nd session: End of Life Records Several types of records are created when a person dies. This class includes locating death records & document contents.
Age: 12 – Adult
Fee: $25 per 2-day class
Days: Tuesdays  
Time: 7:00 – 8:00 pm
