Although the 2024 Presidential Election is still over a year away, Pinal County is searching for suitable polling places after several schools and other organizations have decided to no longer serve as polling locations. But during a recent board meeting, Florence Unified School District President Tammy Quist suggested that schools should continue to be available as polling places.
In other local news, the city of Eloy took the next step in filling a vacancy on the city council on Tuesday. In a closed-door meeting, the council interviewed three candidates for the vacant seat. Get to know more about the candidates and what they bring to the table.
And lastly, a new restaurant and bar is now open for business in Coolidge. Jeanette Karczmarski opened El Grotto in early May and hopes the new location serves a gathering place for the community. |
