Festive NYC Wooftop^® Celebration Kicks Off 2023 Giving Day

Our supporters turned out in force to kick off our 2023 Giving Day in style! More than a hundred supporters gathered in the High Line Room of The Standard Hotel on June 9 to celebrate North Shore Animal League America and raise funds for our lifesaving mission. Hosted by rescue advocate and legendary Q104.3 radio announcer Maria Milito, this amazing evening brought together the animal loving community for a wonderful cause.

What June Means in My House

It’s June, so no surprise: My house is abuzz with kittens and moms. The playing is nonstop, and at mealtime, the sound of kittens eating — all that adorable lip smacking — is priceless. There is a lot to love about kitten season, with one big exception: There are too many cats and kittens in this world!

On June 21, the annual Yulin Dog Meat Festival will begin, and tens of thousands of innocent dogs and cats will be killed for consumption. Animal lovers across the world have pushed China to acknowledge dogs as companion animals, not livestock – a huge first step toward shutting down this “festival.” But we can’t lose momentum now… not until innocent pets are safe from this cruel tradition. Tell China it’s time to end the sale and consumption of dog meat. Add your name now before countless dogs are slaughtered.
