Across the country, several legislatures are introducing and debating bills which could reduce consumer choice and make it harder for everyday Americans to heat and power their homes. We need to stand now. Stay tuned for ways you can engage in your state!

ENERGY CITIZENS SPOTLIGHT
Cathy, New Mexico – Seeing the passion of dedicated Energy Citizens like Cathy makes our day. Cathy attended our State of American Energy watch party in New Mexico. She was inspired by the discussion on tackling the challenges facing American energy security today and holding Washington accountable.
Washington Must Champion American Energy – It is time for Congress to prioritize energy policies that are bipartisan, sensible and results-oriented. As energy demand continues to outpace supply, policymakers need to focus on initiatives that encourage increases in American oil and natural gas production. Earlier this year at our State of American Energy event, API unveiled some of the most important policies to make, move and improve American energy. (Read more here.)
New EPA Proposal: The Latest Restriction Aimed at American Energy – EPA’s new proposed tailpipe emissions rule is the latest move by the Biden administration to hurt consumers with higher costs and increased reliance on unstable foreign supply chains. Today there are 259 million passenger gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles on the road versus 3 million electric vehicles (EVs). (Read more here.)
After Willow, U.S. Needs Consistent Oil and Natural Gas Support from Washington – Given the administration’s record of actions, inaction and negative messaging on oil and natural gas the past two years, it’s not clear that the Willow approval means the White House is squarely on the right energy policy path. Exhibit A: Willow came with an administration announcement that it will withdraw nearly 3 million acres in the Arctic Ocean from future oil and natural gas development, and that it intends to limit future leases in more than 13 million acres in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPR-A). ENERGY LINGO
LNG stands for Liquefied Natural Gas, mostly methane and ethane, which have been liquefied at an extremely low temperature and pressure. This is done when a pipeline isn’t not available to transport gas to a marketplace.
