Dear Alumni, |
We have some exciting news to share. To advance our mission of providing students the best, most career-relevant, education possible, University of Phoenix today began the process of transitioning to non-profit status under an affiliation with the University of Idaho (UI). Higher education is changing at such a rapid pace, we understand we must channel our pioneer spirit and commitment to innovation. We believe this transition positions us to be are the forefront of innovation and continue to expand and provide unparalleled higher education opportunities for working adults and others seeking a flexible, affordable, accessible, and innovative path to career-relevant skills in today’s fast evolving workplace. |
This change will foster an even greater focus on University of Phoenix student success through reinvestment in the institution, which will facilitate increased student support services, technology sharing, and much more both for UOPX and UI students and alumni. |
It’s clear that the rapid changes in higher education show no sign of slowing down. We also understand that there are those among us who don’t want us to further disrupt higher education. But the truth of this innovative affiliation between us and the University of Idaho is that it represents an important recognition that our longstanding focus on adult students must be embraced and supported across all of higher education. We are proud to move forward side-by-side with a highly respected 135-year land grant institution to ensure students and alumni at both institutions see the resources and opportunities they need. |
In the coming days, we’ll have additional information and details about what this means over the long term. You can visit the University’s Media Center for additional information and regular updates. |
We’re looking forward to this exciting new era for your alma mater, and we look forward to embarking on this next chapter with you. |
Best wishes, |
Chris Lynne, president |
