| Maya’s Story of Strength
Maya knew she wanted to become a nurse when she was an undergraduate student in college. And thanks to a unique scholarship program — and your support — she was able to follow her dream all the way to Children’s National Hospital.
Our nursing program paid her tuition and allowed her to serve alongside more seasoned nurses who inspired and educated her. Her work in the Children’s National emergency department and the heart and kidney unit changed her life.
“Once I really got hands-on, working with children and families, I realized I couldn’t work anywhere else,” she says.
