Medora’s Rough Riders Roundup 2023

Dear friends,

I am thrilled to invite you to the 33rd Annual Rough Riders Roundup event happening in Medora on June 24th and 25th. This year’s event promises to be a celebration of epic proportions as we honor Duey and Char Marthaller of Mandan, North Dakota, the sixth recipients of our prestigious Bully Spirit Award:

The Bully Spirit Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation. The heart of the Bully Spirit is the allure of the Badlands and the landscape’s capacity for healing, inspiration, and expanding one’s soul. The life of the Bully Spirit is seen in the human capacity for goodness and achievement. That goodness and achievement are best represented in the lives of Harold Schafer and Theodore Roosevelt. Each was touched by their love for Medora and the Badlands, and each had an extraordinary life of positive, life-changing impact.

This year’s event is especially significant as we celebrate the 125th anniversary of Theodore Roosevelt’s Rough Rider Cavalry and the Spanish American War. We are proud to be a part of the legacy of one of America’s greatest leaders, and we look forward to commemorating this milestone with you.

The Rough Riders Roundup event is always a highlight of the summer season, and this year’s festivities will not disappoint. The event includes a luncheon, the world-class Medora Musical, Pitchfork Steak Fondue, and an afterglow event with live music on the Townsquare Patio. On Sunday morning, we will have a worship service and brunch to cap off the weekend.

Rough Rider members truly are the best friends of the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, and we are grateful for your support in all that we do. This year’s event is a testament to our shared commitment to preserving and promoting the mission of the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation and the Badlands area.

So, mark your calendars for June 24th and 25th and join us in Medora for a weekend of celebration, friendship, and good old-fashioned western hospitality. Register for the event and book your lodging at Foundation.Medora.com/RRR

See you in Medora!
