President Biden visited Canada for the first time in his presidency last week, meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trodeau to discuss a wide range of issues and topics. The meeting produced an agreement that aims to stem the flow of asylum seekers at unofficial border crossings between the U.S. and Canada.
In California, after a harsh winter of heavy rain and snow, Gov. Gavin Newsom ended some of the state’s water restrictions. Newsom said the severe storms restored the state’s reservoirs and eased fears of water shortage.
Back in Arizona, the Arizona Supreme Court declined to hear most of Republican Kari Lake’s appeal in a challenge of her defeat in the governor’s race but revived a claim over signature verification procedures that the state’s highest court says was erroneously dismissed. |
