Fundamentals of Angel Investing: Should you include angel investments in startup companies in your asset portfolio? Delivered in an interactive panel discussion format, this course will provide a comprehensive overview of the asset class of angel investing. Program participants will learn about the motivations and characteristics of angel investors as well as the potential of angel returns. Course panelists will then provide an introductory overview of the angel funding process: deal flow and screening, due diligence, term sheets, valuation, and the post-investment relationship. Panelists will share their critical lessons learned and explain the benefits of angel investing in a group format.

Understanding our ecosystem drives the Angel Capital Association and how we support our members as the steward of the angel investment community. We will be launching the 2023 ACA Investor Sentiment Survey soon! In addition to landscape awareness, this annual survey, which is a complement to ACA’s Angel Funders Report collection, serves as a benchmark for the growth and character of angel investing.

The Angel Next Door podcast is a show about how people got started investing in startup companies. Hosted by Marcia Dawood, current chair of the board of the Angel Capital Association, the professional organization of angel investors across the US and globally.

Rick has been playing Texas Hold’em poker for more than 30 years and previously lived in Las Vegas – spending many years playing cash games and various poker tournaments. He has also played for many years in the premier annual poker tournament—The World Series of Poker (WSOP) each summer in Las Vegas. He has cashed in six WSOP events, including an event in which he won more than $48,000. Rick has also taught his grandchildren and other family members to play and now Texas Hold’em tournaments and will be guiding attendees through the evening!
