House Republicans are pushing an aggressive pro-drilling and mining bill that would take a huge step backwards by undermining recent climate successes, propping up industrial polluters and cutting communities out of decisions that impact their health and safety.
Last summer, Congress passed the biggest climate investment bill in U.S. history. Though it wasn’t perfect, the bill provided the foundation to work toward healthier communities, a more stable climate and a transition to renewable energy. House Republicans’ massive new bill, H.R. 1, is an attempt to undo that progress and prop up polluters by silencing community voices, fast-tracking mining and relaxing toxic waste standards.
We can’t let House Republicans go forward with their efforts to ramp up dirty drilling and mining projects.
