NAMI Young Adult Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer-led support group for young adults, ages 18-36, who have experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. You will gain insight from hearing the challenges and successes of others, and the groups are led by trained leaders who’ve been there.
This group meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month and the next meeting for this group will be on Tuesday, March 21st from 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM on Zoom. Click here for more information and registration.

NAMI Peer-to-Peer is a free, eight-session educational program for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery. Taught by trained leaders with lived experience, this program includes activities, discussion, and informative videos. However, as with all NAMI programs, it does not include recommendations for treatment approaches.
This group meets every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, starting on March 28th until May 16th. Sessions will be held virtually on Zoom. Click here for more information and registration.

Know Someone 14-22 Years Old Interested in Creating Change?

Healthy Minds Fairfax and JSSA are creating a Youth Advisory Council and are looking for applicants! Applicants must be: 14-22 years old; live in Fairfax County; and have lived experience with mental health conditions and/or navigated systems such as Foster Care, Juvenile Justice, mental/behavioral programs, and Homeless Services.
No prior exprience needed as participants will receive the training and support needed.

The Partnership for Healthier Alexandria has partnered with George Mason University’s Center for Psychological Services Bridge Team to gather information via a survey on how to improve connections between providers and mental health care users in Northern Virginia. This information supports the Community Health Improvement Plan’s Mental Health Priority Area; specifically, the strategy to “Normalize conversations about mental healh” and the tactic to, “Create and deliver a mental health literacy program to eliminate mental health stigma.”
