As the spring sports schedule begins, the Casa Grande Union girls tennis team hopes to rely on players both young and old in the new season. The Cougars are hopeful that everyone will get a chance to shine in hopes of getting another player to the state tournament.
On the national stage, the World Baseball Classic is in full swing. Last night at Chase Field, Mexico made a statement against the USA, winning the game 11-5. With the lopsided loss, the U.S. team could be in jeopardy of not advancing to the next round.
Also, in the world of NASCAR, fans watched as William Byron took home the win in the Ruoff Mortgage 500 at Phoenix Raceway. It was Byron’s second straight win in the cup series, putting him at the top of the standings in the early portion of the season. |
