As the sport of soccer continues growing in the country, Casa Grande is taking steps to make the game more available to residents. At their next meeting this Thursday, the Planning and Zoning Commission will decide on a proposed new soccer park on Trekell Road north of Kortsen.
Meanwhile, in Maricopa, the Maricopa Unified School District is seeking input from staff and parents on how they can better protect students from bullying. At their latest meeting, many parents expressed concerns about their child’s safety because of ongoing problems with bullying at Maricopa schools, wanting MUSD to have a comprehensive overhaul of practices for student discipline.
And around the state, the number of children who mistake edible marijuana for candy is on the rise. While children who eat cannabis can experience mild symptoms, experts say some symptoms are far more dangerous and could lead to some children requiring a hospital visit. |
