This week, I joined House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan and several colleagues at a field hearing on the border crisis in my district of Yuma. We also visited the Yuma Regional Medical Center which has spent more than $26 million in uncompensated health care to illegal immigrants, nearly bankrupting the hospital. (I wrote about this a few weeks ago, you can get caught up here.)
My colleagues and I heard from several local witnesses including Yuma Regional Medical Center CEO Dr. Robert Trensche, Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot and County Supervisor Jonathan Lines. They described the devastating impact the invasion is having on our besieged community. In his testimony, Sheriff Wilmot noted that “border patrol apprehensions of illegal migrants in the area have gone up from 40 a day to over 1,000 a day in the space of two years, and that the county has had to shell out tens of thousands of dollars to lease Porta-Johns to stop migrants defecating in crops.” Dr. Trenschel testified that “it is an unsustainable model to have a hospital like ours bear the entire burden of paying for migrant health care. No business or service can survive ongoing large-scale expense without any offsetting revenue.” Supervisor Lines noted that “illegal entry, human trafficking and narcotics, especially fentanyl and methamphetamine, has now compounded and pervaded across the States to affect every community across our nation, now making them too into border communities.”
Although all democrats from the Judiciary Committee were invited to attend this important hearing, it was unfortunate that not even one participated, confirming once again that securing our southern border is not a priority for democrats.
Biden Regime Weaponizes IRS to Audit Asian and White Americans
The anti-White policies from the racist Left continue in the White House. Although Congress has passed laws that prohibit the Internal Revenue Service from collecting race and ethnicity data from American taxpayers, intending tax collection to be race neutral, the anti-White Biden regime is attempting to circumvent these laws. How so, you ask?
Last week, Biden signed an executive order altering the IRS’s audit algorithm to target White, Asian or mixed-race taxpayers. Wait, what? It’s true! You read the right! But you won’t hear about this from the Fake News, that’s why you MUST read the Gosar Newsletter regularly! Mr. Biden signed the order on February 16 directing all federal agencies to produce an annual “equity action plan” aimed at removing barriers to agency resources for “underserved communities.”
The phrase “racial equity” is a Marxist concept that assumes White people have obtained unfair advantages solely due to their race and therefore the government should enact anti-White racist practices to harm White people. Because Asian people are among the most successful people in this country, the left uses “racial equity” to discriminate against Asian Americans as well.
It gets worse. According to America First Legal Foundation (AFL),since Joe Biden took office, the Treasury Department has been using “racial equity” as a “key factor in the design of tax compliance,” and illegally “examining the tax system through a racial equity lens.” The AFL further notes that remarks by Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Wally Adeyemo, Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy Lily Batchelder, and members of the “Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity” demonstrate that the Treasury Department is committed to imputing race and ethnicity into tax data “for the purpose of ensuring that more White and Asian Americans are audited based solely on their race or national origin.”
The Republicans in the House will review these racist policies and support the work of organizations like AFL to eradicate open, blatant and immoral racism in government.
New Poll Shows What Americans Say is the Greatest Threat to Public Health
Speaking of the fentanyl crisis, a new Axios-Ipsos poll released this week demonstrates that democrats are unable to understand the real health risks Americans are facing. Republicans see fentanyl and opioids as the biggest threat to Americans’ health. Democrats, on the other hand, foolishly think “access” to self-defense is a health risk. In reality, the person whose health is at risk when citizens have “access” to self-defense weapons is a criminal trying to rape, assault or steal from you.
It’s Mail Time!
I receive a lot of mail from constituents on many topics. In fact, just this week, I received over 1,000 letters from concerned constituents who took the time to express opposition to a draft pandemic treaty recently released by the corrupt World Health Organization (WHO) that awaits ratification by the 194 WHO member countries next week.
Here’s just one of the many letters on this topic sent in by Kimberly B. from Surprise, Arizona:
Good morning Mr. Gosar, thank you for fighting for Arizona!
I wanted to express my complete disgust and fear that Biden will hand over our sovereignty to the WHO. Our state sovereignty and individual rights do not end in an emergency.
I had a terrible experience with my 85-year-old mother during covid. She lived. But not without a terrible and lonely experience. She made me promise I’d never take her back to the hospital. The WHO, CDC and corporations dictated how my mother was to be treated. Common sense doctoring had gone out the window. I’m convinced two things helped her live: her daily use of hydroxychloroquine for her autoimmune diseases and ME and my treatments at home.
The corporations and insurance companies have been encroaching on doctors’ practices and decisions for a very long time. Now it’s to the point of dictatorship by forcing decisions that aren’t based on science or common-sense doctoring. Giving that control to the WHO is a horribly disastrous plan against those individual rights. Please do something to stop this.
Because so many folks wrote in this week about Mr. Biden preparing to hand over pandemic power to the WHO, I wanted to thank everyone that contacted me and use this opportunity to respond:
First, President Trump rightfully removed the United States from the WHO, but Joe Biden foolishly reversed that decision. This treaty is replete with concerning language. There is an enigmatic reference to “One Health surveillance,” which has yet to be defined in the document. A former WHO employee interviewed by the Epoch Times fears that the true meaning of the globalist term “One Health” encompasses all of human activities which must be all considered (and probably restricted) when responding to a pandemic.
The “Vision” for the entire draft is preceded by the bolded phrase “The world together equitably.” “Equity” and its variations appear 47 times in the 32-page document.
“Parties,” or the sovereign states that must submit to this treaty, have to make a series of promises for preventing and responding to pandemics, from “ensuring equitable access to resources” to “provid[ing] pathogens with pandemic potential” to “an established WHO coordinated laboratory network”–to requiring “equitable gender, geographical and socioeconomic status, representation and participation, as well as the participation of youth and women, in global and regional decision-making processes, global networks and technical advisory groups.”
“Parties” must “monitor and regulate against substandard and falsified pandemic-related products.” Translation–life-saving treatments similar to hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin must be outlawed again. “Parties” must “inform policies on factors” that “hinder adherence to…confidence and uptake of vaccines,” paving the way for more forced vaccinations. “Parties shall strengthen the capacity and performance of national regulatory authorities.” In other words, the document seeks to cede more power to incompetent agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration, who lied to the public about vaccine effectiveness and deadliness, transmissibility, and the origins of COVID-19, among many other falsehoods concerning COVID-19.
It is ironic that the WHO’s own “Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response” accused the WHO of a “toxic cocktail” of errors, yet this document’s solution is to somehow massively increase the clout and breadth of the WHO. The opposite is needed. The WHO should be eliminated.
Worryingly, “Parties” can provisionally accept the document’s mandates if they request so in writing. The Biden administration would be directly violating the Constitution if they did so, as treaties require approval by two-thirds of the U.S. Senate–in addition to the President.
The WHO embarrassed itself in the wake of COVID-19. They cozied up to China and fell for China’s lie that COVID-19 was a myth while the virus continued to spread. If the WHO had taken the virus seriously earlier, lives could have been saved. Instead, the WHO in coordination with government scared people into not seeing their doctor, not taking effective therapeutics, and ingesting deadly vaccines–as well as causing depression and loneliness on a massive scale for no reason. Countless death ensued.
Candidly, I do not think the United States should contribute a dime to the WHO budget.
I reject all types of international law, including this treaty. The United States is a sovereign nation whose citizens must decide for themselves the laws that bind them. Any language that comes before Congress that shifts power from American citizens to unelected globalist foreigners is one that is dead on arrival for me.
I support bills that would remove the United States from the WHO, strip the WHO of its U.S. funding, and withdraw the U.S. from the United Nations, another globalist entity whose purpose is anathema to American interests. Furthermore, I wrote the Biden administration urging them not to cede any further U.S. sovereignty to the WHO. Unelected foreigners with legislative power over American citizens would have our Founders rolling in their graves. It must stop!
