Good morning RJ,
Members of the Black Chamber of Commerce in Maricopa are celebrating after Mayor Nancy Smith presented the chamber with a proclamation last Wednesday, officially recognizing them as a 501(c)3 nonprofit. The chamber’s mission is to encourage the city’s African-American community to engage and learn about local business opportunities.
Looking to get out of the house and enjoy the cool weather this weekend? Than check out the quilt and fabric shows that are taking place tomorrow! Over 300 quilts and other items made by sewing groups will be on display across two different locations, the Fiesta Grande RV Resort and Sundance 1 and 2 resorts.
Also, continuing with our coverage of National FFA week, we took a closer look at the Imagine Prep FFA Chapter in Coolidge. While the group may be younger and smaller compared to other chapters in the area, adviser Tracy Anders believes her group’s hard work will pay off by taking home state titles in floriculture and public speaking. |
