Legislative Wins
In 2022, the CROWN Act or legislation inspired by the CROWN Act passed in 5 new states (ME, LA, MA, TN, & AK) and 4 municipalities making hair discrimination illegal in a total of 19 states, 44 municipalities and 1 U.S. Territory.
On March 18th, the CROWN Act (Federal Bill H.R. 2116) passed the House of Representatives for the second time. On December 15th, Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) took to the United States Senate Floor and made the case for the passage of the CROWN Act by unanimous consent. Disappointingly, the CROWN Act did not pass in the U.S. Senate, but we remain grateful for Senator Booker’s bi-partisan leadership as the original lead sponsor in Congress.

3rd Annual National CROWN Day
We kicked off this year’s National CROWN Day with a week-long celebration of Black beauty, sisterhood, and community with a strong call-to-action to #PasstheCROWN!
