Forever was a breath too far
We tried and tried and tried so hard
This age was found for naught
Our souls lost the battle so viciously fought
In tomorrow’s shadow, we stood alarmed
Fortifications secured within each other’s hearts
We each took the blows and each took our shots
We each made excuses to explain the loss
Our regrets came so quickly and from the start
The distance so far grown will keep us apart
The story of us found the bill and the cost
And it erased so much good without mercy, or pause.
