In Florence, an alleged ranking member of the Mexican Mafia could potentially face another charge after an incident with a correctional officer in September. Paul Matus, who is already charged with conspiracy to commit murder, could see another potential charge added to a slew of after allegedly attacking a correctional officer.

Meanwhile, in San Tan Valley, A car wreck resulted in two deaths Friday. The collision occurred on Gantzel Road near Painted Desert Drive when a driver crossed into oncoming traffic.

And finally, organizers are seeking volunteers for the Pinal County Point-In-Time Homeless Count. The event is an annual street count to determine the number of people experiencing homelessness in Pinal County. The PIT Count will take place from Jan. 25 to 30, with training provided for all volunteers.
