Angel Capital Association

At ACA, amidst the hustle and bustle of the holidays, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on how grateful we are for our community of angels and ecosystem builders and all that we’ve been able to accomplish together over the last year. The organization has advanced in leaps and bounds because of the dedication and hard work of our members, Board of Directors, committee leadership, partners, volunteers and donors.
In 2022, we were able to officially launch the Seed the Future capital campaign, have significantly increased available hours to work on strategic imperatives, reached new heights in our education, public policy and data efforts as we work tirelessly to advance angel investing and the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
We are wishing your group, staff and families a safe and happy holiday season and look forward to serving you in 2023 and beyond!
The Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of the Advocate for Small Business Capital Formation issued its 2022 Annual Report to Congress and the Commission on December 16, 2022. The report details how entrepreneurs and investors are building companies together, from startups to small public companies.
We would like to recognize and thank ACA Chairs Emeritus Christopher Mirabile, Launchpad Venture Group Executive Chair, and Catherine Mott, Co-founder and Managing Partner, BTVC Fund for their influential work in serving on SEC advisory committees.
Join your peers for the Department of the Navy Chief Information Security Officer’s Blue Cyber Small Business Cybersecurity Boot Camp on Tuesday, December 20.
Learn about the resources available to help secure your small business and to comply with the DoD’s requirements for small business contractors. If you’re considering doing business with the Department of the Navy or the DoD, you won’t want to miss this free event!
Now is the time to come together as a community to nominate candidates for the Angel Capital Association’s FY 2024 Board of Directors and to find volunteers to help ACA continue to grow and support the work of angel investing.
Desired nominees should have expertise in one or more areas of ACA’s special focus for the coming year: Membership Development, Marketing, Data Analytics and Business Development. Successful candidates should also have experience as senior leaders of angel groups or other organizations within the startup ecosystem. And, of course, we put a premium on those who have demonstrated the drive and ability to get things done, for ours is a very active Board. Other selection criteria will include a history of effective work on behalf of the ACA. As a transparent and open organization committed to representing the broadest range of angels and angel organizations, we also seek a Board that is geographically and demographically diverse.
Please submit your selection for the 2024 ACA Board of Directors, term to begin July 1, 2023, by emailingACA CEO Pat Gouhin and Governance Chair, Clay Rankin, by February 22, 2023. Please include the candidate’s bio, email, phone number and LinkedIn profile, plus recommendations from at least two ACA members and their contact information. If you are nominating yourself, you will be counted as one of the two recommenders. You can learn more about ACA’s current Board, mission, vision and values here.
Owing to the generosity of individual donors, angel groups and the incredible matching pledge made by Ann & Bill Payne, the Angel Investor Foundation is nearing its first $1 MIL raised. And, there is still time to give to push us over the mark in 2022!
We serve both aspiring entrepreneurs and anyone interested in angel investing to increase and diversify our economic ecosystem. Our programs to support these efforts include education, syndication and research.
