Tiny Cricket fights for another day

The best holiday present is the gift of tomorrow
Dear PETER,

With his piercing green eyes and fluffy, fuzzy coat, you can’t deny it: Cricket is cute.

But when this three-month-old kitten arrived on our campus this summer, it was immediately clear something was wrong. Cricket was half the size of his siblings – and suffering from a rare and potentially fatal medical disorder.

Our no-kill mission is often the only lifeline for animals like Cricket with nowhere else to go, struggling to survive for another day. Will you help us reach and care for more animals in need with your holiday gift today?

Because the truth is, you’re providing more than medical care… You’re giving homeless animals like Cricket the gift of tomorrow.

Your lifesaving gift ensures we’re always there for animals in need.
Shortly after Cricket and his siblings were surrendered to our care – one of many litters we met at the height of kitten season – our accredited veterinary team searched for answers to Cricket’s small stature.

The blood work revealed a rare disorder – congenital hypothyroidism. Cricket’s depressed thyroid function delayed his nervous and skeletal system growth, but thankfully it’s very treatable when caught early. With daily medication and support from our animal-loving community, Cricket is back on his paws, exploring the world as any kitten should.

It’s the season to be there for others, and it’s our mission to always be there for an animal in need. I know if you were here, you would’ve agreed: Abandoning Cricket was not an option.

Every homeless dog, cat, puppy, and kitten deserves a full life, starting with a healthy tomorrow. That’s why I hope we can count on your lifesaving gift today.

Thank you for sharing the holidays with homeless animals.

Thank you,
J. John Stevenson
