The list of nominees for the 2022 All-MLB Team provides a good look at just how loaded this year’s free-agent class is.

Of the players in consideration, representing the best baseball has to offer, 15 became free agents after the conclusion of the World Series (including Edwin Díaz, who signed a five-year, $102 million deal with the Mets shortly after reaching free agency).

These are the current free agents up for All-MLB recognition.

It’s not a long list, but Michael Harris II and Spencer Strider joined an exclusive group of rookie teammates who finished first and second in the Rookie of the Year voting in the same year.

The future is uncertain, but with some hindsight and time, we can look back and appreciate just how good many of these rookies were.

All 30 teams have until 6 ET this evening to make decisions about their 40-man rosters. Some prospects will earn a coveted spot, some will not and will thus be eligible to be picked up by another team in the Rule 5 Draft.

With the Arizona Fall League having come to a close, it really feels like the offseason now. Here are the prospects who stood out the most over this six-week campaign.
