Good afternoon RJ,
Eloy is keeping the music and its Hispanic heritage alive this weekend with its annual Fiestas Patrias. The event is a celebration of Mexican Independence Day. The party starts tonight and there will be plenty of food, music, dancing and fun to enjoy for all ages.
There is also one very special guest this year. Eloy native Olivia Calderon. The talented Pinal County resident, who made it on “America’s Got Talent,” will be sharing her passion for music with local crowds.
We also got to speak to the brains behind coordinating the festival for the last 50 years, Mary Lou Rosales. Read about how she got involved and the history of the event in Eloy.
And if you’re still in the area Saturday evening, you might want to stop by the Arizona City Fire Station. The district is restarting its spaghetti dinners. Proceeds fund the district’s summer programs and other operations. |
