Hi RJ,
America needs every bit of energy we can find in order to combat inflation, address our supply chain crisis, and support a our economy. Offshore leasing for oil and natural gas is a proven success story, supporting over 325,000 jobs, and powering our homes and businesses.
That’s why it’s so concerning that the Department of the Interior is delaying offshore lease sales. The Department’s job is to responsibly manage our natural resources, not lock them away while Americans are paying more for gasoline and groceries.
Not only are they delaying current sales, but the Department’s latest five-year leasing program (2023-2028) goes even further, by stating that they may not hold any new lease sales over this time. That’s half a decade without major federal action offshore to help reduce energy prices.
We can’t afford to wait that long, not when our economy needs help now. Will you join us in telling the Department of the Interior to stop putting the brakes on America’s energy supply?
