We’ve loved seeing photos of children getting ready to go back to school over the last couple of weeks. With first day of school photos and backpacks full of school supplies, parents all around the country are hoping their children will have a successful school year. However, many have children who are experiencing mental health challenges and are struggling to get the help they need.
That’s why, along with the Hopeful Futures Campaign, we are advocating for comprehensive mental health services in schools. Right now, every state can do more to improve mental health resources for our children.
America’s youth are lacking fundamental mental health resources nationwide — trained professionals, mental health education, well-being checks, and more — leaving kids without the help they need.
As the mental health crisis continues to affect youth, our help is needed more than ever With the worries and struggles children are facing today, they should have a supportive environment at school and trained professionals they can reach out to for help.
There will always be a need to improve mental health services, and it will take all of us to get it done. The Hopeful Futures Campaign has been fighting to provide children’s mental health resources in schools. And with your help, we can continue our advocacy to support youth across the country.
