The Biden Administration continues to claim they’re trying to bring down energy prices and protect American workers. If that’s true, then why does the latest proposed 5-year offshore leasing program from the Department of the Interior leave open the option for no new offshore energy lease sales from 2023 to 2028?
Americans need relief from high energy prices NOW, not empty rhetoric. We need to get more American natural gas and oil onto the market so that we can help make it less expensive to transport goods, drive to work, and power our homes.
This isn’t just a regional issue—all Americans benefit when our energy sector can make the most of our incredible natural resources. Relying on oil imports from overseas to meet our needs is a bad strategy when we could be producing our own energy right here at home.
It’s time for the Biden Administration to put what have so far been hollow words into real action that will improve the lives of the American people. We need Energy Citizens like you to stand up and make the case for American energy. Will you send a letter to the Department of the Interior in support of a strong offshore leasing program that includes 11 new lease sales over the next five years? Every person can help make a difference.
