Here’s What You Can Expect From Session Two of the Entrepreneur Speaker Series
Session one of the Entrepreneur Speaker Series is in the books! Thank you to everyone who tuned in either in person or virtually. We can’t wait to see you for session two!

The State Forty Eight Foundation Entrepreneur Speaker Series presented by Ogeez! brings together some of Arizona’s most remarkable founders, CEO’s and industry experts. Each session will tackle a theme or topic that is central to the journey of the entrepreneur. Here is what you can expect from session two:

VALUABLE INSIGHT: It’s the part of entrepreneurship that no one likes to talk about, but legal and financial business planning are perhaps two of the most important (and confusing) pieces of the puzzle to ensure protection and longevity for your business. In session two, legal and financial experts will join us to discuss important legal factors that all businesses need to consider.

RESOURCES: Various local entrepreneurial organizations will be on site offering their services and support to Arizona startups and small business owners.

CONNECTION: Come ready to meet and connect with fellow entrepreneurs, aspiring business owners and community professionals!

GOOD BITES & A GOOD BUZZ: Our friends at Walter Studios will be throwing down the kitchen and offering select menu items for purchase. And if you’re feeling parched, the Honey Bar will be open as well!

*FREEBIE ALERT* Our legal experts are offering a free 30-minute consultation for audience members who attend in person or virtually.

ABOUT OUR SESSION TWO SPEAKERS
Hua Chen, Esq., Patent & Trademark Attorney
Passionate about protecting inventions and brands, Hua’s greatest fulfillment comes in protecting individuals’ innovative ideas and artistic expression so they can feel empowered to share their unique gifts to advance humanity and leave a mark on history. If you prefer that your attorney stay superficial, both in their understanding of your product and their relationship with you, don’t work with Hua. Queen of questions, Hua is very thorough and feels most comfortable representing you when she can come to know you and your product intimately, not just accomplishing the task at hand but moving you towards your ultimate goals. If things get stressful, Hua’s clients don’t feel the brunt of it, her neighbors and friends do (in the form of baked treats and invitations to afternoon tea). For Hua, being involved in IP is having a front row seat to observe the amazing creative powers of humans and it energizes her.
Ruth Carter, Esq., Evil Genius at Geek Law Firm
Known for their daring antics and outgoing personality, Ruth Carter is an Arizona attorney and an authority on intellectual property, business law, and internet law. Ruth was selected as an American Bar Association Legal Rebel and a Phoenix Business Journal 40 Under 40. They also wrote three best-selling books on guerrilla marketing and social media law including The Legal Side of Blogging: How Not to get Sued, Fired, Arrested, or Killed. Ruth has been a speaker over 100 events including Content Marketing World and South by Southwest, and featured in the Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur, and on NPR.

Michael Fussell, JD, LLM, CPA, Tax Law Associates, LLC
Michael graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law and Illinois Institute of Technology with the degree of Master of Laws in Taxation with Honors. Having fulfilled the requirements of the United States Tax Court, and having taken the oath and being duly qualified, he was admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court on November 6th, 2002. As a tax strategist, Michael is wealth of wisdom when it comes to startup and financial planning.
