| As your constituent, I’m reaching out to urge you to oppose raising taxes on American manufacturers.
Dramatic tax increases could accelerate inflation and unnecessarily punish American job creators by decreasing our competitiveness abroad. And recent studies conducted by Ernst & Young show that proposed tax hikes on businesses could result in up to 1 million fewer jobs right here in the United States, along with up to $20 billion in lost economic activity across the country.
Additionally, the latest consumer price index indicates that inflation continues to increase at the fastest rate since 1981. Raising taxes during a recovery could accelerate inflation even further and hurt American families.
A potential tax increase on American manufacturers could negatively impact all of us. To put it simply: the hardworking families in your state – including myself – can’t afford that.
I urge you to support U.S. job creation and economic recovery. Please oppose tax hikes on American manufacturers. |
