The primary is coming up in Florida this summer and we are excited to be partnering with Operation BlackOut, a project helmed by Florida State Senator Shevrin Jones, which works hand in hand with dozens of partners across the state to increase voter turnout among Black and brown voters through vote-by-mail.
We will also talk about our strategy to engage Black voters in Florida through vote by mail and early voting during the primaries this August and fall midterms.
Senator Jones was elected to the Florida State Senate in 2020 to represent the 35th District. He previously was a Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing the 101st District, which includes southeastern Broward County since 2012. Jones is the first openly gay Black person and first openly LGBT Black person elected to the Florida Legislature!
