Mark your calendar – National CROWN Day is coming up on July 3rd!

Dear CROWN Supporter,

Mark your calendars – the 3rd annual National CROWN Day celebration is July 3rd! National CROWN Day is a day of solidarity for the human rights of Black women, men, and children to wear their natural hair boldly, and proudly, without fear of being discriminated against in schools or the workplace. On this special day, we commemorate the anniversary of signing of the first CROWN Act and further mobilize the nation to end hair discrimination.

We’re headed to New Orleans!

This year’s National CROWN Day celebration will take place during Essence Fest weekend where we will host a 3-day celebratory experience as we mobilize the community to help us #PassTheCROWN nationwide.

Come celebrate with us!

If you are attending the 2022 ESSENCE Festival of Culture this year, be sure to visit Dove’s Reign & Shine booth between July 1 – July 3 to show your support of the CROWN Act. Throughout the weekend, you will have the opportunity to win daily raffle prizes, fun giveaways, including: a CROWN-inspired duffle bag designed by Pardon My Fro, Dove products, CROWN Act merch and much more!

You can also join Dove and the CROWN Coalition at the Convention Center Wealth & Power Stage for a CROWN Conversation panel discussion on Saturday July 2nd @ 3:30 pm CT.

If you are in the NOLA area, join the New Orleans Mayor’s office, Arts Council, Dove and the CROWN Coalition for the unveiling of a commissioned CROWN movement mural on July 1st at the Paris Parker Wall (633 Carondelet Street). You can view the mural, take pictures, meet the artist, and more!

Celebrate with us virtually!

Follow @thecrownact and #PassTheCROWN on Instagram to join in the National CROWN Day celebration all weekend long. We will also provide CROWN Day social assets, including: photo filters, IG stickers, and other exciting tools for you to celebrate the day with us! More details to follow.

Thank you for your continued support! Please continue to encourage your friends, family and community to support The CROWN Act by completing the steps below:

All my best,
