Dear Rj,
Our caregivers have faced incredible uncertainty, stress, and loss over the past few years. So we wanted to dedicate a day to honor them and the great care they offer. Today is that special day!
Please help celebrate devoted, compassionate providers with a donation today. We set a one-day goal to raise $8,000 in honor of the 8,000 medical and nursing professionals at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Great care makes stories like Kole’s possible. Kole was born at 24 weeks, weighing just 1 lb. 9 oz. And he came into the world kicking.
Kole’s mom Chanel knew he would need to stay in the NICU to grow, but hoped he could come home near his original due date. Unfortunately, Kole’s lungs were very underdeveloped and he required significant respiratory support. Even after months in the hospital, he was still having trouble with breathing.
The team of Boston Children’s specialists, who’d been by Kole’s side from the start, told Chanel that he would need surgery. The news was devastating. But thanks to the compassion and expertise of their care team, Kole’s family knew it was the right choice—and that he’d be in good hands.
“It’s very scary but reassuring at the same time…Having the confidence in our providers has made all the difference,” says Chanel. “We have a long journey ahead of us, but we’re in the best place we could have been.”
Give today to honor the great care teams at Boston Children’s who help kids like Kole survive and thrive.
Although still hospitalized, Kole is doing well. He’s a happy, friendly baby—his smile can catch your eye from the hospital hallway. He’s fascinated by mobiles and his kicking piano, and particularly fond of his family’s rendition of “The Wheels on the Bus.”
Make a gift today to honor all the dedicated staff who are by patients’ side through the uncertain moments, the smiles and kicks, the good days, and the bad. Your support makes the excellent care at Boston Children’s possible.
Warm regards,
