Thank You - Jan 2022

Dear Peter,

Thanks to your generous support, the MLBPAA proudly hosted the first Legends for Youth Clinic of the 2022 season at the Texas Rangers Youth Academy at Mercy Street Sports Complex last month to promote the game of baseball and teach fundamentals to children of all ages.

Travis Driskill, Choo Freeman and Chris Gissell were three of the former big leaguers on hand to help instruct baseball fundamentals.

“What I enjoy is making a difference, making an impact and seeing the passion of the guys on the baseball field and seeing them grow as kids,” Choo Freeman said.

“I was excited because since I’ve been out of baseball I haven’t had a whole lot of opportunities to get back.” said Travis Driskill. “Getting back to see the kids and just being part of the whole [MLBPAA], it’s a big deal. Baseball is very foundational. Each skill builds on top of one of the other. If you can build that foundation with kids, hopefully, they’ll never go backwards, and they can get better from that point on.”

Read more about the youth clinic here, and how Chris Gissell took the time to talk with parents about cherishing relationships.

Stay involved with the MLBPAA by visiting our events page to see if the Legends for Youth Clinic Series or a special event is headed to your area. We thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Brooks Robinson, MLBPAA President
