Good morning RJ,

A supply chain shortage is having a very real impact on Casa Grande Police’s vehicle fleet. Despite approving the expenditure of more than $700,000 to purchase nine new police vehicles and two vans, city officials acknowledged that there is some uncertainty regarding when they’ll arrive due to shortages.

During a pursuit where a juvenile driver fled from state troopers, the Arizona Department of Public Safety deployed the use of spike strips to deflate the vehicle’s tires. According to some reports, this led to other motorists on the road having their tires deflated. The driver and five individuals who were in the country illegally were later taken into custody.

And here’s what else is happening today:

– No charges will be filed in a quadruple homicide that occurred at a Tucson trailer park Sunday. You can review news coverage regarding the incident in this video.

– A warrant has been issued for a Texas man accused of attempting to blow up a gas station earlier this year. Basil Esa Auso, 39, is charged with arson after he allegedly set a garbage can on fire at a gas station in Sacaton. Auso’s attorney told the Pinal County Superior Court on Monday that Auso had informed him that he had left the state.

– A woman living in a Maricopa garage is facing charges of forgery and credit card fraud, among others, after she reportedly attempted to cash fraudulent checks.
