Central Arizona College may be looking to sell its Casa Grande education site on Florence Boulevard. At last week’s board meeting, school officials gave an update regarding the possible sale of the property to an interested buyer for approximately $1.5 million, nearly 10% above its appraised value. 

A proposal to redevelop the old Sacaton mine, just west of the city, raised questions about how the project (now renamed the Cactus Mine) might affect local drinking water as well as the economic impact to the region at a recent public hearing.  

Know a talented child or teenager? The Casa Grande Veterans Day Parade Committee is holding a Veterans Day art contest for children and teens. Those who enter might have a shot of having their work displayed for public viewing at this year’s Veterans Day activities, scheduled for Nov. 6.
