The D-backs’ LGBTQ+ Team Player Resource Group encouraged the organization to wear purple to stand against bullying. On #SpiritDay and every day, we’re proud to take a stand against bullying and support LGBTQ+ youth by symbolically going purple. Support #SpiritDay by wearing purple and post on your social media platforms using #SpiritDay to demonstrate your support, and encourage those around you to do the same.
#SpiritDay began in 2010, and was organized and developed by GLAAD as the product of an idea by teenager Brittany McMillan. McMillan’s mission is to honor young people who lost their lives to suicide and to take a stand against bullying. This day occurs on the third Thursday each October during National Bullying Prevention Month.
