AWLA

You have kept AWLA going for 77 years and that is something to celebrate!
Thanks to you, thousands of animals (and the people who love them) receive resources, care, and protection every year. With your help, every animal that comes through our doors gets the chance they deserve to find a loving family.

Animals just like Erdman.

We don’t know much about Erdman’s life before she was found in her carrier in a local park.
Someone had cared for her — there was a blanket in her carrier, and a bag of food and flea treatment was next to it — but she was in roughshape.

We knew that Erdman would get the help she needed because we have friends like you by our side!

The vet team diagnosed her with a condition called psychogenic alopecia, meaning she was scratching her neck to the point of injury, likely due to stress.
Thanks to your support, Erdman got medication, a haircut (she was badly matted on her back), and lots of TLC, and is feeling so much better and ready to find her new home!

For every Erdman, there are thousands of animals waiting to get the same love and care. You can ensure that happens.

When you help us raise $77,000 for our 77th year, you can provide:

  • 154 veterinary assistance grants for pet owners OR…
  • 550 low-cost spay or neuter vouchers for community pets OR…
  • 2,200 microchips OR…
  • 7,700 rabies vaccines OR…
  • 15,400 meals for shelter pets…
and so much more.

Thank you for making the last 77 years possible — Here’s to the next 77!
Tune into the special birthday paw-ty we threw for the animals in the shelter!
