Gosar Announces Funding for Wickenburg Municipal Airport
WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Representative Paul Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) issued the following statement in response to the Department of Transportation’s decision to award $145,696 to the Town of Wickenburg reconstruct the taxilane at Wickenburg Municipal Airport.
“I am pleased to announce that the Wickenburg Municipal Airport will receive this critical funding to reconstruct the runway to extend its useful life. The airport is frequently used for by general aviation pilots in the community and surrounding area. These funds will ensure that the airport operates safely for many more years,” said Rep. Gosar.
Hershel Workman, Wickenburg Public Services Director, said “We very much appreciate this grant from the Federal Aviation Administration which will allow us to begin the design phase to address critical improvements to the taxilane.”
Background:
On April 1, 2021, the Federal Aviation Administration issued a Notice of Grant Award to the Town of Wickenburg to provide $145,696 in federal funding for the Wickenburg Municipal Airport to perform sealing repair, crack repair, and joint filling to 17,000 square yards of the existing general aviation apron surface to extend the pavement’s useful life. The project reconstructs 1,000 feet of the existing taxilane pavement that has reached the end of its useful life. The grant funds the design phase.
