By His Wounds We Are Healed
We live in a world in need, and many of us would agree what we need most at home, and around the globe, is healing.
Healing from the devastating effects of the pandemic. Healing from the discord and division that has sprouted among us. Healing from economic woes. Healing from the painful loneliness that has grown as we are kept apart from loved ones, and held back from business-as-usual at work, school, and in our communities.
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
—Isaiah 53:5
Our lives have changed in ways big and small, but God remains the same. The Good News of Jesus Christ has not changed. The hope we have — hope for a future in heaven alongside the Lord for all eternity, is not dimmed by earthly circumstances.
And so, let us cling to our faith.
Today, we claim healing.
Today, we claim peace.
And every day, we proclaim that our hope is in Jesus Christ —
a steadfast anchor for our lives in every circumstance.
