Kyrsten Sinema and coronavirus-relief law

Peter,We have good news to share for Arizona jobs.
In the new coronavirus-relief law – which we shaped to meet Arizona’s needs – we worked across the aisle and secured an expanded Employee Retention Tax Credit to support Arizona employers and workers, and keep more Arizonans on payroll.
Before our legislation was signed into law, the Employee Retention Tax Credit was limited in how much support could be provided to businesses in the live entertainment and performing arts industries – major employers in our state and important members of Arizona’s creative community – based on the number of people they employed.
Arizona employers – especially in the live event industry – have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, and many will be among the last to reopen. That’s why we called on Senate leaders to expand access to the Employee Retention Tax Credit for severely impacted Arizona businesses with 500 or more employees.
Expanding the Employee Retention Tax Credit ensures Arizona workers can stay on payroll and continue making ends meet while we lay the groundwork for a full economic recovery.
We’ll continue working across the aisle to provide stability and support to Arizonans impacted by the economic crisis. Visit our website for updated resources and support: https://www.sinema.senate.gov/corona.

Sincerely,
